The attached map shows our proposed journey through South West Queensland crossing the border at Hebel and travelling to Brewarrina, Bourke and then Louth to a sheep station named Trilby where we will be camped on the Darling River for a few days to take in the amenity and beauty of the Darling River country.
Our Ezy Anchor prototypes will be in use to secure our caravan awning as we travel and this journey allows us to test the anchors in all types of firm to hard ground environments, soft sand excluded as our sand anchor is under design currently.
From Trilby we travel to Wilcannia, Broken Hill, Peterborough SA and on to Quorn at the base of the Flinders Ranges to visit the Pitchi Ritchi railway and Railway Museum.
We then travel on to Rawnsley Park sheep station for several days where we will expedition around Wilpena Pound and some of the beautiful Gorges of the Flinders Ranges and then on to Angorichina Village and up to Marree the home of the Birdsville Mailman Tom Kruse a man I have admired all my life.
The Oodnadatta track then calls and we will travel across the base of Lake Eyre and up to Algebuckina Bridge on the Old Ghan railway line and visit the many historical ruins along the way.
Coober Pedy then beckons and we will have the pleasure of exploring this underground town and all its beautiful earthly buildings and of course the local opal fields and offerings.
From here we will head North to Erldunda Roadhouses where we will turn left and head for Uluru for several nights under the stars and within site of the “Rock” at which time we wish to have dinner under the stars in the field of lights spectacular.
Our next destination is Kings Creek Station and through Kings Canyon on to Glen Helen Gorge and then to the Alice for a few days rest and relaxation.
We then head for Hale River Homestead, the Gem Tree, Jervois Station on the Plenty Highway to Tobermory Station on the Donoghue Highway to Boulia before heading South East to the Diamantina National Park for a look and up the Diamantina to Old Cork Station ruins and through to Winton, Longreach, Emerald, Marlborough, Bundaberg and back to Brisbane.
Updates will be posted when in service range.
